Sifu Rodrigo Rocha

I started practicing Chinese martial arts in 1991. I really enjoyed watching movies by Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. I wanted to be like them!

However, I was also directed to Karate in childhood, but I still felt a little aggressive in my attitudes and in my relationship with people. I got to participate in some championships in Brazil, like the 2nd Kuo Shu Brazil Cup in 1995 and the Brazilian Kung Fu Championship in 1999 in the city of São José dos Campos.

In 1998, I had my first contact with Ving Tsun, and this ended up changing my concept of what martial art means. I learned to control my feelings and to be more fair in my attitudes.

Although I started practicing Ving Tsun in 1998, I was only able to better understand the theories, principles and concepts after joining the Rob Ley Academy. Sifu Robert Ley is an excellent person, transparent, fair and always with a positive attitude. He made me see Ving Tsun from another point of view. This was only possible with the help of GM Tong, who encouraged me to look for him.

Although many people know Ving Tsun as a style of Kung Fu, today I recognize it as a philosophy of life and a way of leaving good things for future generations. I was able to learn this and better understand these issues over the years! I thank Rob Ley for helping me to continue on this journey.
